Scaramouche Returns to Rock the ANU Bar
Melbourne-based band Scaramouche will return to their hometown of Canberra for a blistering one-night-only show on Friday 11 November at the ANU Bar and Refectory, to follow up the release of their debut EP Access Denied. The EP, recorded by one of Australia’s most prominent producers Stuart Stuart (The Veronicas, The Small Mercies), showcases an exciting, balanced and timeless set of tracks that has lauded much promising feedback and opened many doors for the band. The feature track Access Denied was recently ranked 2nd in the ASA 2010 Songwriting Contest. Scaramouche has already stirred much excitement as an upcoming professional band with a unique flair for showmanship and talent, and has recently given live performances and interviews on UCTV and Noise TV in Melbourne. The band’s last performance in Canberra was the Hell or High Water benefit show in February this year, where they delivered a sweltering performance as they assisted in raising $10 000 for the 2011 Queensland floods. Scaramouche are already hard at work on their debut album, to be released in 2012. Their first single ‘Smoking Gun’ from the album will be released later this year. Scaramouche will be conducting a national tour to support this album.
Scaramouche will rock the stage on Friday 11 November at the ANU Bar, and will be joined by special guests. Entry is $10 and the Access Denied CD will also be available for $10.
