Liz Stringer ‘Wram in the Darkness’ Tour 2012
Acclaimed Melbourne songwriter Liz Stringer returns with her fourth album, “Warm In The Darkness”, a barnstorming melodic ride which bursts out of the gates without conceding any of the emotive storytelling at its heart. Back in the saddle are Stringer's long-time bandmates Adam May (drums) and Tim Keegan (bass), along with more recent addition, Van Walker (guitar).
Stringer has turned up the heat since her last release, the self-played, non-amplified, "Tides of Time", and alchemized the songwriter's subtle art with the amplified swagger of a rock band that means business. Brass and keys abound on these explosive songs that import echoes of Americana into the modern Australian landscape and paint something truly reflective of the great southern land.
Recorded at Audrey Studios in Melbourne under the guidance of revered co-producer and engineer Craig Pilkington (who also played horns on the album) "Warm In The Darkness" is a joyful, guitar-laden homage to the great pop-rock traditions, and clearly Stringer’s most confident and accomplished album yet.
“The evolution of Stringer’s musical career is an ongoing process – always simmering, always producing something, whether it be an intimate solo record or a rollicking band album. Basically, Liz Stringer is doing her own thing, her own way, and that’s why we respect her so much.”- Samuel J. Fell, Rhythms Magazine
