Gomez return to Australia this coming October for a national tour to support the release of their latest album A New Tide. Last here to perform Bring It On in its entirety to pay homage to its 10-year anniversary, this coming October tour will be the bands seventh visit.
Their new album A New Tide, (the bands sixth studio album) released in March this year, was an eagerly awaited collection of new songs, and for fans it did not disappoint. The album showcases the freewheeling British Band’s more experimental roots, and is a fi tting follow up to the brilliant How We Operate. A New Tide is not only a fantastic return to form but an album full of lazy acoustics and impassioned vocals and is proof these elder statesman of the indie scene are still capable of producing the most exciting music. In short A New Tide is Gomez at their inimitable incomparable best.
Gomez has stood apart from their very beginning just over 13 years ago, earning critical praise and an ever-growing fan base for their eclectic and ambitious musical direction.
Far from the days when all 5 band mates lived in and around Southport England - now scattered across 2 continents - it has all the hallmarks of a family reunion when they come together on tour. The musical depth of Gomez runs deep. With a back catalogue to die for, they write songs that work equally well as a soundtrack to a mid-summer day by the barby as they do for a lonely night wandering dark city streets.
Adored by their fans and always welcomed to any stage with rapturous applause, they have their audience hanging on every chord. They are true Musical Journeyman. And what a journey it’s been. Playing the four corners of OZ from tiny bars to Festival stages, Gomez return to Australian shores this coming spring and give Australians a chance to continue a love affair that started almost a decade ago.
